No I’m not talking about the famous movie. I’m talking about the 12 worse contaminated fruits and vegetables with pesticides. It has been reported that on the average there are 72 pesticides, larvaecides, herbicides and fungicides on store brought fresh fruits and vegetables.

In an earlier post I described the affect these chemicals have on eroding your immune system. Over time by eating fresh fruit and vegetables your body begins to store these toxic chemicals in fat to protect your vital organs of their negative health consequences such as cancer.

The table below lists the source and their worst contaminated fruit and vegetable.

The solution to this problem is to only purchase organic fruits and vegetables or to grow them yourself.

  1. Unless I’m going to peel or cook it, I try to buy organic. Especially ones my kids might want to snack on because they don’t always remember to wash them. It’s a bit more expensive (especially here in Alaska) but worth it for our health.
