Make mealtimes relaxed and enjoyable.

When we eat in the relaxed state, the parasympathetic nervous system is in control, and the digestive processes work. This generates more saliva production, more gastric and pancreatic juices, better bowel wall motility.

When we eat on the run or we are stressed (or we worry and talk about the room that didn’t get cleaned or the projects that didn’t get done), the sympathetic nervous system takes over; everything mentioned above diminishes, and constipation often results.

Relax. Chill out. Enjoy one another!
