FB-Pic-TempletThis is the second of the twelve pillars of success. This pillar Jim Rohn says is “three-dimensional health; the body, the soul, and the spirit.” In the first pillar I covered the First Pillar of Success; Work Harder on Yourself than You Do on Your Job or Business.

The Second Pillar of Success: Total Well Being

You have a  body, that’s obvious. You also have a soul; your intellect and emotions.  The third element is your will and spirit. The later two, the soul and spirit, are the parts that will transcend this world and is meant to be eternal.

Most people only work on one at the exclusion of the other two. But the truth is each of these elements are interdependent; meaning they need each other. If you move one the other two are moved too. If one is weak, the other two will suffer.

Look at each of them like the layers of an onion. The outer layer is the physical, the body. The next layer is the soul and the inner layer is the spirit. Jim Rohn says, “Take care of your body because it is the only place you have to live.”

Some ideas to improve each area:

Physical: Nutrition, exercise and rest.

Intellect and emotions: reading, studying great works, writing, listening to positive people.

Will and Spirit: Reading and studying the Holy Scriptures, attend a weekly meeting of faith, listening to spiritual leaders and great music, serving others, attend charitable events.
