Right after Christmas I begin to reflect on what I’d like to accomplish for the next year. I first do this by spending a brief moment reflecting on the past year to learn, express gratitude and review the progress made in my life and the areas I’d like to change and improve as I go forward in life.
As I focus on next year the following are a few criteria that I believe will help me set the correct path:
- I have to be excited about my dreams and goals!
- They have to be in congruence with my authentic self.
- They have to not only bless my life but the lives of others, most notably my family, close friends and business partners.
- They have to be consistent with the creation of freedom; physically, financially and spiritually.
- They have to be fun!
Brief Reflection on the past year
I had a great year. I set out to achieve reaching an income level and I’m really close to achieving it. This has created more freedom for me. I had several areas of personal development I wanted to reach. I’m happy that I was able to improve in several areas; being authentic, grateful heart, love and peace. Physically I was able to get stronger and that allowed me to finish 3 Ironman triathlons, the most I’ve ever done in one year. It was important to create a deeper connection with my sons and while I’m not where I want it to be, I’m happy that our connections have improved.
I lost my mother this year and now both my parents are no longer living. That was a right of passage that I needed to pass through and I’m grateful to have been raised by two loving people who did their best and gave me a great start with many chances to grow throughout my early life with them.
I sustained a possible Ironman career ending injury. That has caused me to reflect on my health. I’m not sure now what the future holds but I know that with faith it will be abundant. I’ll be able to be competitive, have fun and do those things that will keep me fit, healthy and strong.
Growing my business group will be a top priority. I want to grow it not only for the money, but for the freedom it will provide and the growth I’ll personally receive.
I’m excited to expand my public speaking around The 7-Keys of Health and Freedom™. Also, to create a weekly webinar to teach these principles to others.
Physically I’m going to solve my health issue with my knee and hopefully receive my invitation to race the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii next October. If God is willing, I’ll finish 4 Ironman triathlons next year and then retire on my terms.
I’ll start to play golf again too. This will allow me to have a reason to travel to many different areas to play and enjoy the company of those I’ll play with.
I’ll expand on my personal development journey. I’ve discovered some keys areas that will propel my joy and gratitude and allow me to connect on a much deeper level with people and the beauty all around me.
The feeling and expression of love is an important element in life. I’m like everyone else; I want to feel a sense of belonging. I want to be accepted for who I am. I know that “I am enough!” Accepting my own story is liberating for me. I accept even the “so called” dark areas. I don’t try and hide them and in so doing, I’m liberated to let my light shine.
I’m grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me. He has been with me during my trials and is the author of all goodness in my life.
I’m thankful for those that find value in reading my blog. I’m grateful for you even though I don’t know you personally, I know that if we ever had the chance to meet, we’d be good friends.
God bless you!!!
