Step One: Visualize | Seven Minutes

First self assessment question; On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being “unhopeful and blah” to 10 being “excited about life with a great deal of hope”, where do you stand?

Get out a pen and paper or even write a note in your smart phone. Write down some attributes of the desires you have in life. Don’t hold back and don’t allow your mind to throw up roadblocks as to why you can’t have or achieve it.

Some examples may include:

  • I am healthy and fit and full of energy!
  • I am a traveler and love going new places every month.
  • I am a leader and influence people to be a better person.
  • I am very creative and create my arts and crafts to share with family and friends.
  • I am excellent in my career and earn $120,000 per year.
  • I am an entrepreneur and own a small Italian restaurant where people hang out and feel welcomed.
  • I am a wonderful mother and spend quality time with my children and they love learning.
  • I am able to purchase my 60ft motor home and travel throughout the United States 4 months a year.

The form of the desire always starts with “I Am_____________.”

Don’t hold back. Spend seven minutes and list as many as you’re able. If you want to go past the seven minutes do so.

Step Two: Feelings | Three Minutes

After you’ve prepared your vision affirmation statements in step one now focus on how you’ll feel in that state. Review a statement, shut your eyes, sit back and dwell on the feeling of that state. For example, if you wrote, “I am very healthy and fit and full of energy!” you might have the feelings of excitement, energy, confidence and might feel sexy.

For the final three minutes close your eyes and feel the emotion that your vision evokes.

Conclusion

After spending these ten minutes how do you now feel overall? Reassess the beginning question, On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being “unhopeful and blah” to 10 being “excited about life with a great deal of hope”, where do you stand?

Did the number rise? Almost always it will if you were honest in your visioning and really feeling the emotion of being in that state. Why do you think it raised?

What ever amount the number raised you’ve started a new journey. All lasting change and any accomplishment you’ll ever achieve, first starts in your mind and is attached to a powerful positive emotion and feeling. Most people, frankly, never have done an exercise like this.
